There's a method to my madness!
My approach to art is a tad bit unorthodox... at least when I compare myself to other artists. I've never gravitated towards the notion of "drafts" and "early-stage design", which is ironic for someone whose head is practically flooding with ideas. I tend to approach design with the intention of meeting the finish line, visualizing my end-product as cleanly and accurately as possible. Of course, when I draw, I'm sketching out my initial thoughts-- as every artist does. But even so, I find that my sketches are far more legible than my peers, as I like to clearly decipher what it is that I'll be inking. Having a cleaner sketch that properly conveys my ideas has always been my signature approach, as it eliminates the iconic question of, "what the hell is this even supposed to be?"
...In collaborative and professional settings, this approach is undoubtedly ideal. Being able to accurately portray your visions with your clients or coworkers makes the design process flow a lot smoother. It's vital to share that vision. ♡
Allow me to demonstrate with an example:

...In a storyboard setting, diminutive details such as buttons and jewelry might be unnecessary. However, as a drawing, I'd like for my clients to be able to decipher as much as possible, notifying me of any criticism or major overhauls in the earliest stage. You should be able to admire their kawaii clothing without the overlap of box sketches! ♡
That being said... you do have a clear idea of what's going on in this sketch... right?!
...As for my graphic design work, the same concept applies. What I consider a "draft" seems to be a near-finished product to my peers. I don’t often start with sketches for logos, ads, or posters unless that’s part of the brief. My "draft" for an enneagram infographic went as followed (in comparison to the final product):

...As you can see, not a whole lot was altered. Some padding between the columns, filling in text, altering the hierarchy... but that's about it. I aim for a final product, and adjust my piece as necessary to fit the vision. ♡
